What do Cable Workers do?
Cable television workers install, maintain, and upgrade cable systems. Perform repair work and respond to service problems at the homes of the cable users. Your main objective is to maintain a smooth running cable system.
Your first duties involve installation of the cables in the subscribers’ homes. If necessary, you will install the cable system to as many systems are required. In addition, cable internet service will be installed. You need to be able to explain to your customer how to operate the cable box. Removal of cable systems is also your duty. You may need to check for feeder and droplines, which are the main lines that connect all the cables in the neighborhood. Troubleshooting problems with cable or internet service.
